sending them to school everyday

have your kids ever asked why they have to go to school?

Mine have a couple of times, not often but a couple of times.  Sometimes I answer them the long round-a-bout way….saying because you need to so you can get a job and yada, yada, yada.  And then there are other times when I say to them -  just be thankful you can go!!

Anyway yesterday my 5th grader participated in the “Take your Child to Work Day’.  I know this usually happens around April, but the school decided to do it early.  And so she went with her Dad

_MG_0106She observed the Engineers mostly,  and admin staff, document controllers, finance staff and really everyone else who works in the office.  She asked questioned, and noted which learner profile and attitudes would be required for a job in that particular office/environment.

I think it’s a great idea!  And whenever you can show your kids connections and make that link for them from “classroom to the real world”, you do it.

I’m really appreciating the school that we choose for my kids with the PYP, MYP and IB program.  And not only do I like it but most importantly my kids are enjoying it and thriving.

I think it was too early for her, and she hates photos!!
