long weekend - day 3

sometimes the best kind of trips/ adventures are the spontaneous ones.

And on this Sunday morning, that's exactly what we decided to do.  On the spur of the moment, with the sun shining outside we decided to make a day of it  and do another 'road trip'.

So off to Kent we went, to the historic dockyards.

The English weather is very unpredictable!!  Half way through our drive we got caught in a major storm.  Strong winds, heavy downpour, and shining sun in between the busy roads.

Anyway we made it to the dockyards and decided to just visit there.

I'm always impressed at how well the English preserve their history.  How they make sure that their young generations and ones to come see and learn of their history.  Rich history!

As a tourist it's wonderful.

one thing for certain after this weekend - tis that there is so much more to UK beyond the red buses and royal memorabilia!

and on the third day..........

He Rose!

the tomb and death could not hold him down.

For which I am grateful.

Happy Easter!!

long weekend - day 2

today we took our little furry friend to the vet.

He's ok, but has a growth on his little ear.  It doesn't seem to be slowing down or anything but I thought I should get it checked.

After that well stayed home.  cleaned up a little, watched a lot of rugby and then went out for dinner.

It's a good thing we all enjoy Thai food.

the diagnoses for our little furry friend isn't good.  he has a tumor growth and it can't be operated on, so we've been told to just make him comfortable.  Albert is at the later stage of his life and we know they don't live long....but that does not make it easy.

We will make the most of his remaining days and make him comfortable.  Sorry Albert.

Long weekend - Day 1

Beyond the red buses and royal memorabilia there is a lot to see.

Cambridge - Universities, Colleges, Henry the 8th's legacy, Theory of Everything film sights, Stephen Hawkings college and Punting on a glorious english day.

on this extra day.................

what did you do?

Anything special??

Well, I put my feet up and had the day off.  Yep I did nothing today.   Except read, catch up on a few tv shows and then read again.  And cups of tea and coffee.

Even on this monday, the beginning of a new week, when one is suppose to be doing this and doing that...I choose to put my feet up.

And it felt good.  It was a choice I made, and it felt good.

I hope you've enjoyed your 'extra' day in this leap year.

tea from my Kazakh teapot.
